Q3ADE FTAM
Q3ADE® FTAM
The FTAM (File Transfer, Access & Management) provides a bulk
data transfer service based on the standard ISO OSI 8571.
FTAM is widely used in the telecom world for transferring files
between switches and central accounting systems.
FTAM is the OSI equvalent to the Internet File transfer protocol
FTP, but provides a wider range of functionality for handling and
mediating between different file data formats.
Q3ADE® FTAM actually consists of
two products, namely the Q3ADE® FTAM
Server and the Q3ADE® FTAM Client.
The Q3ADE® FTAM Server provides
the equivalent of an FTP server, i.e. access to the local file store
of the host via the FTAM protocol. It is purchased separately.
The Q3ADE® FTAM Client provides
the equivalent of an FTP client, i.e. access to remote file stores
via the FTAM protocol. It is included with the Q3ADE 3G platform and
the Q3ADE® 3G Advanced Developer.
The Q3ADE® FTAM is provided on
Windows NT/2000/XP, Solaris and RedHat Linux. It supports FTAM over
X.25, CLNP and RFC1006/TCP/IP). Some combinations of OS and Protocol
Stacks are not supported yet.
