Ridge Communications Inc. selects UHC's Q3ADE 3G to
Provide Network Management Platform
UH Communications (UHC)
and Ridge Communications Inc. (RCI) have partnered to deploy
Q3ADE 3G, an integrated enterprise management system.
Greg Parros, RCI's
Vice President of Operations, stated "we evaluated a number of
different options before choosing the UH Communications
network management platform. It was our

With R.5.08c1 we include the new GeoLocation feature with

features are available in the free licensed version.

Q3ADE Release 5.07c1 is now
available to customers of Q3ADE developer packages.
The Q3ADE R.5.07c1 comes with a significant set of new features
and improvements compared to the R. 5.07c0, specifically in
relation to security management.
These security improvements have been developed as a response
to several customers requesting a secure multi-node Q3ADE
3G architecture with end-to-end privacy and with a centralized
domain user/group management service. Some notable improvements
are:
- Secure communication via Q3/CMIP, CORBA/IIOP and HTTP
using SSL.
- End-to-end privacy and authentication level control
- Multi-layered security domain architecture

Global Connect Deploys UHC
Q3ADE 3G based Fault Management Solution.
GlobalConnect (www.globalconnect.dk)
recently launched the product "End2End Access",
which allows GlobalConnect to offer 2 Mbit/s circuits to a
much greater extent by taking advantage of the G.SHDSL technology.
GlobalConnect has entered into collocation agreements with
TDC allowing GlobalConnect PoPs at the TDC exchanges. At these
exchanges the G.SHDSL platform is being implemented to carry
multiple symmetrical 2Mit/s circuits via copper lines.
GlobalConnect has chosen to upgrade their monitoring and
control platform of the G.SHDSL network by implementing the
UHC Q3ADE 3G platform. This platform is now deployed at the
GlobalConnect Network Operations Center in Taastrup, providing
24/7/365 fault monitoring of the network.

UHC participates in UMTS billing trials.
UHC together with a number of major European Mobile Operators
and Equipment vendors, will initiate a series of billing trials
for advanced 3G on a Pan-European UMTS/GPRS testbed.
The trials will be conduted under the framework of the European
funded IST OPIUM research project (www.ist-opium.org).
The trials will include billing of location based services
under roaming conditions.
