The
TL1 Gateway
Legacy still going strong
TL1 is a USA specific derivate of the ITU MML (Man-Machine Language),
which still is the most commonly used interface for managing high
end Telecom Equipment in USA.
The TL1GW enables a semi-generic integration of TL1 based
equipment into the Q3ADE Framework; semi-generic because TL1 commands
are informally specified and hence cannot be automatically translated
as can CORBA, CMIP and SNMP. But Q3ADE 3G provides a powerful set
of tools to simplify the task of introducing translation logic to
enable access to TL1 based equipment. This includes:
TL1 Meta Information Directory. Enables dynamic on-the-fly tailoring
of translation parameters
Script driven translation logic. Enables fast development of
translation logic
Security profiling. Q3ADE's generic security profiling
logic may be applied to the TL1 resources.
Translation of TL1 Alerts to X.733 Alarms process'able
by the Alarm Log.
