The Q3Browser - the Graphical User Interface to Q3ADE.
The Q3 Browser
is the user-friendly interface to Q3ADE and Q3ADE 3G. It offers a range of
advanced features to assist the user in navigating the information
and services in Q3ADE 3G.
The purpose of the Q3Browser is to allow operational management,
field technicians and developers to perform management operations in
a graphical environment.
The Q3Browser acts as Web Client application using the Q3ADE
3G (or any Q3ADE
application including the HTTPGW component) as the web server
application. As such, you may compare it to a specialised Web
browser. It is Java based and runs on any Sun Java supported
platform. E.g. you may run the Q3Browser on a PC while
the Q3ADE 3G server runs on a High-end multi-processor Sun Spark
host.
The Q3Browser includes by default the following graphical components
The tree view. Provides a file-system like view of the "managed
objects" in the system. The objects appear with individualized
icons.
The alarm log
(bottom pane). List of alarms in the alarm log,
sorted according to severity and status. Provides various
functions for alarm management.
The map view
(right
pane). A graphical organization of your resources into maps, which
may be populated
with clickable icons, lines, meters, graphs and text fields. May
be configured by drag-drop or automatically. Includes also an event
correlation function, providing bubble-up alarm animation.
The macro recorder/editor (not shown). A function you
can active to record management trancations for replay, e.g. in
connection with auto-configuration or testing.
Check the screen shots for examples
of the use of the q3browser.
The Q3Browser may be extended with specialized
components developed using the GUIDO Development
package.
