The Fault Management Services (FMS)
The most fundamental functionality in any management system is
fault management.
Q3ADE 3G provides a range of out-of-the-box fault management functions,
which may be applied to handling alarms and fault information across
the technologies integrated by Q3ADE 3G. This includes
-
Alarm Capture
Collecting and translating
alarm information from various technology specific domains to the
common event information format of Q3ADE based on ITU X.733.
Out-of-the-box support for SNMP, CMIP, TL1, CORBA, XML.
Proprietary adaptation may be done in a manner of days. Read more
about Alarm Mediation with Q3ADE.
-
Alarm Management Persistent alarm logs with
Operator interface, maintaining alarm history, including clearing
and acknowledgment of alarms.
- Alert by e-mail and SMS
Individuals may be
alerted about selected alarms (by type, severity, source) through
e-mail or SMS
(via a SMS gateway). Advanced alert
mail policies may be configured with alarm content filtering, weekday scheduling and
distribution lists.
- Hierarchical event correlation
Q3ADE provides a
unique integrated event correlation mechanism based on a dynamic
drill-down map concept. Event correlation and map configuration is
done in one integrated configuration operation.
Dynamic Drill-Down Maps
Organize your system view as a set of hierarchical
drill-down maps. The drill-down maps automatically maintains
a real-time correlated alarm view of the system. You configure
the maps by drag-drop or automatic configuration mechanisms.
-
Incident Management Integration The Alarm
Management is tightly integrated with the Incident Management
function of Q3ADE 3G, allowing rapid initiation and follow-up on
incident resolution tasks.
-
TMN/OSS and business application integration
Q3ADE provides a range of interfaces through which other applications
may retrieve alarm information, including CORBA, CMIP, XML/HTML,
ODBC and SMTP/SMS(e-mail).
