The
CORBA Gateway
CORBA has gained a great deal of momentum as a next generation
candidate as a unifying management technology. CORBA is used both
as a basic interconnection protocol between Management OSS'
but also as an equipment management protocol.
The CORBA Gateway provides the necessary tools and protocols
to interact with CORBA applications via IIOP/GIOP v.1.0. This includes
both the ability to act as a generic CORBA based Management Information
Server and to access other CORBA Servers, e.g. CORBA Based agents
in equipment.
Besides the basic protocol interfacing, the CORBA Gateway also
provides:
-
Script-driven CORBA client/sever
code. You may develop both Corba
client and Corba server applications through scripting. No
code compilation/linking is required.
-
CORBA-to-Q3/CMIP Gateway enables CORBA
client applications to operate on Q3/CMIP Agents.
-
Q3/CMIP-to-CORBA Gateway enables Q3/CMIP
manager applications (e.g. TeMIP) to operate on CORBA Server/Agent
application.
-
CORBA-to-SNMP Gateway enables CORBA client
applications to operate on SNMP Agents.
-
CORBA-to-TL1 Gateway enables CORBA client
applications to operate on TL1 Agents
-
CORBA-to-CORBA Gateway enables CORBA Clients
to operate on other CORBA Clients, e.g. for protocol translation,
security realm translation, object naming translation
etc.
- Name server function with the ability to identify and
locate managed object instances within the common information view
of Q3ADE (UVIS).
- CORBA events channels capturing
and routing.
-
CORBA events processing. E.g.
script driven translation of CORBA events to appropriate alarms.
-
Advanced filtered Information querying across the whole
unified information tree.
The paper "The CORBA
Gateway" provides an overview of the architecture of the
Gateway.
